When I ask others to describe what makes me different, the answer I receive most often is I am global. Global is fair because I like to put a broad perspective on what I experience, I embrace cultural diversity, and encourage my clients do the same. Coupled with a smile and sense of humor, we view the world as an experience.
Growing up abroad molded me into the person and teacher I am today. My deep understanding that different is not good/bad or right/wrong became cellular when I was 17 and living in Japan after having lived in Europe. Living in two vastly dissimilar cultures gave me unique and fortunate experiences that shaped me into an open minded, or more important, open hearted person attracted to language and cultural diversity.
Because of this shift, I also appreciate that language, culture, as well as prior experiences, contribute to a person’s interpretation of the world. Through my own personal practice and education, I intuitively work with clients on the challenges and advantages these differences bring. My strong belief in embracing human diversity results in my daughter’s attendance in a dual language (Spanish/English) international school and German spoken in our home.
My continuous thirst for learning, and desire to open opportunities to live abroad again, resulted in my earning a graduate degree in Education. I now enjoy teaching children K-12 as well as adults. My intention is for us to be productive world citizens full of compassion for each unique person and experience, practicing Love ANYWAY.
Just move one way or another…
While initially it can be a great challenge, it is easier to Love and let go than it is to hang on to anger and being right. Respond rather than react. Smile, breathe, and do something physical with intention every day. This a practice not a destination. The combination of techniques such as exercise, Asana (Yoga postures), breathing, diet, and meditation result in a practice that moves mind, body, and energy. We will customize our sessions to fit your abilities. Through regular practice, you experience: awareness, balance, relaxation, health, wellness, calm, and ultimately peace.
I am a registered Viniyoga teacher with the Yoga Alliance (500 hour), an American College of Sports Medicine certified Health/Fitness Specialist, certified in Reiki, and hold a graduate degree in Education.
